Welcome to Be a Mentor

Be A Mentor (BAM) strives to help every child with an unfulfilled promise in the greater Charleston area by matching them with a caring mentor. Be A Mentor has recruited over 1,000 mentors since 2004 for Charleston’s leading mentoring organizations. While still able to refer volunteers to partner organizations, BAM has established and continues to expand its own mentoring programs to encourage people to join the mentoring initiative in the Lowcountry!

Just 3-4 hours a month gives a child:

• Higher self esteem.
• Better school attendance & better grades.
• More confidence.
• A chance to succeed.
