In South Carolina alone, 236,700 youth aged 3 to 17 reported a mental, emotional, developmental, or behavioral problem.
Out of those youth with a treatable mental illness, 68% did not receive treatment or services.
Students who live in poverty show a compounded degree of adverse experiences that contribute to hindering social and emotional development.

18.9%-37% reported anxiety
31% reported both depression and anxiety
