As a 501(c)(3), Be A Mentor relies generally on grants and donations to fund our operating budget. However, we are fortunate to receive tremendous support from Charleston’s business and corporate community.
Becoming a business sponsor of Be A Mentor is mutually beneficial for both Be A Mentor and your business. Be A Mentor will include your company’s logo on our website and on printed materials for our annual Going Places Gala and Mentor Awards Celebration.

We have had great success recruiting companies who encourage employees to become mentors. We have teams of mentors in the same school from the same company. Although each mentor has his/her own mentee, knowing that a group of your fellow employees are also participating creates camaraderie and allows for a shared experience!

Be a Mentor sponsors two primary events throughout the year: the Going Places Gala in the fall and the Mentor Appreciation Celebration in the spring. We are always seeking sponsors at a variety of levels for these events, from monetary donations to silent auction items. Sponsors are acknowledged in all program materials and at the event. Businesses who have sponsored our events range from small, local shops to large organizations. This is a great way to get your name out there while doing good!
Host a Fundraiser:
Do you own a restaurant and would like to host a benefit night? Does your store want to have a “Shopping for Mentoring” day? Do you have another idea for a fundraiser? Share it with us! We are always looking for creative ways to raise funds for our mentoring programs. We will promote the event to our mentors and supporters to get people in the door. Support mentoring while gaining customers!
