Here is a super fun way to spice up basic math skills. Using “magic” you can help your Lunch Buddy practice mathematics. All you’ll need is a sheet of paper, a white crayon, and water color paint. Create a sheet of practice problems, making sure to leave enough room for a box with the correct answer at the bottom. You will write the correct answer in that box with the white crayon. Once your mentee has completed the problems, he or she will use the watercolors to reveal the correct answer. To make this experience more magical, create the sheet before arriving, so your mentee does not see you writing the correct answers in white crayon.The finished product will look something like this:
This activity is great because you are not the one correcting your mentee, the answers will reveal themselves! This activity was initially used for addition, but you could easily use it with subtraction, multiplication, or division!
