To celebrate Pi Day, we are combining math and art in this fun activity from our friends at What We Do All Day that illustrates the digits of Pi. If your mentee has started basic geometry they have probably come across Pi, or π, which is the ratio between the circumference and diameter of a circle. With a few sheets of paper and coloring tools, you can help your mentee examine Pi while having fun! To learn more about the many, many digits and uses of Pi, check out the video below.
What You'll Need:
Have your mentee color in the squares of the graph paper to represent the digits of Pi, and the end result should look something like a city skyline. They can then go on to color in the background like a sunrise or sunset.
